Pallets and Containers
A pallet or container is a unit load device (ULD) which enables a large amount of products or material to be bundled together for storage and transportation. A pallet is a flat structure that supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift truck. A pallet is the supporting foundation of a unit load which allows goods to be gathered together, stored uniformly and shipped in an efficient manner. Goods are often placed on a pallet and then secured and held together by using stretch wrap or shrink wrap. Pallets are made of wood, hard plastic or metal.
