A 19-strong team from Fleet Operations – including staff dressed as Batman and Robin, The Joker and a giant banana – has climbed the 1,085 metres to the summit of Mount Snowdon in support of 20 national and local charities. The company is raising £20,000 to mark its 20th anniversary.

“It was a tremendous achievement for the team to complete the climb and help raise money for a range of worthy causes, which are close the hearts of our employees,” said Richard Hipkiss, Managing Director of Fleet Operations, who led the charge donned in Super Mario garb.

“Thanks to the efforts of my teammates, and the generosity of those who have pledged and donated, we are now halfway towards our reaching our fundraising target.”

The charities set to benefit include familiar national names, such as Macmillan Cancer Support, British Heart Foundation and Dementia UK, with local causes including Douglas Macmillan Hospice in Stoke-on-Trent and the Peter Pan Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme for children with special needs.
