Targa Telematics introduces Thomas Smith as UK Country Manager

Targa Telematics, a technology company specialising in the development of digital solutions in telematics, smart mobility and IoT platforms, has appointed Thomas Smith as its Country Manager for the UK market.

Having worked in the technology industry for over fifteen years, Smith brings a wealth of experience in key management, delivery and technical roles across automotive telematics, insurance, and banking sectors.

Smith joined Targa Telematics in 2019 as UK Delivery Manager, having previously been Head of IT & Project Delivery at Tracker Network UK.  His new role as Country Manager sees him take overall responsibility for all Commercial and Operational aspects of the UK business, including the delivery of technology solutions for B2C and B2B automotive customers into the UK market, and developing new business through Targa Telematics’ suite of telematics services.

Targa Telematics has established several successful partnerships in its short time in the UK by leveraging the strong relationships it has from working with many international companies across Europe. Its wide portfolio of technology services enables it to provide solutions to a variety of sectors, including rental and leasing companies, large corporates, and OEMs.

The company is adept at delivering complete solutions for fleet management, asset management, insurance telematics, and corporate and public car sharing, including for the expanding electric vehicle market in the UK. Targa Telematics’ modular and scalable digital mobility platform also allows it to quickly develop and deliver customized solutions for its partners in the automotive industry.

Nicola de Mattia, CEO at Targa Telematics, commented: “Over the last five years, Targa Telematics has witnessed a significant growth in terms of both international presence and total revenues. We have expanded in Portugal and France, and we are now opening a new office in Madrid, Spain. Thomas has successfully helped us to establish our company in the UK, so we’re delighted to make him our UK Country Manager and we look forward to growing the business together.”

Thomas Smith added: “Since establishing the UK business in late 2019, we have been successfully growing our presence in this new market, despite a challenging environment over the past couple of years. I believe our breadth of solutions and experience working with leading companies in the industry allows us to differentiate ourselves within a competitive market. Our aim is to continue supporting businesses by enabling them to implement sustainable mobility solutions across their fleets.”
