Fairfax adds a magnificent seven new Isuzus for the first time

When Northern plant hire company Fairfax Plant Hire were looking to replace seven incumbent vehicles, the Yorkshire-based company specified seven brand new Isuzu rigids for the first time, adding three Isuzu Grafter 3.5 tonne trucks and four Isuzu 7.5 tonne trucks to its fleet.

Operating out of their three depots in Yorkshire, the seven new Isuzus will be working in the Fairfax Plant Hire fleet for at least five years, with each vehicle covering in the region of 40,000 miles per annum.

The debutant Isuzus at Fairfax comprise of three Isuzu Grafter N35.150 rigids fitted with bespoke aluminium Nesmo beavertail bodies that incorporate a winch, together with four Isuzu N75.190(E) rigids with Shawtrack beavertail bodies. The 3.5 tonne Grafters are working mainly towing trailers, whilst the 7.5 tonne Isuzus are being used for the delivery and collection of general items of self-drive plant.

“The incumbent vehicles were underperforming so, when we decided it was the right time to replace them, the Isuzu trucks met our criteria for proven reliability and impressive payload, therefore becoming the first ever Isuzus in our 40 strong plant hire delivery and collection fleet,” said Mark Love, director, Fairfax Plant Hire.

Fairfax Plant Hire are the largest independent plant hire company in Yorkshire with customers throughout the North of England and the Midlands. Established over 30 years ago, Fairfax now operates through three depots in Selby and Leeds, handling in excess of 1500 pieces of plant and equipment from all the major manufacturers.

“For many years now the Isuzu truck range has built up an established proven reputation within the UK plant hire industry with many companies now coming to rely on their versatility and excellent payload. It’s good to see a well-established company such as Fairfax Plant Hire adding these new Isuzus to their fleet and we look forward to developing a strong relationship with them during the working life of these seven new trucks,” said Jon Corcoran, senior fleet sales manager, Isuzu Truck UK.
