Experts from Microsoft, Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Stranger & Stranger and Design Bridge are just some of the leading packaging designers and innovators speaking as part of the Pentawards Conference at Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2019.

The exclusive, design-focussed conference takes place on the 11 & 12 September at Olympia London where the event opens its doors for its tenth edition. Speakers from some of the world’s most recognised brands will draw on the latest design trends, real-life influences and their own experiences to educate visitors on how to become a winner in packaging design.

In a big win for the show, the headline session will be hosted by Kevin Marshall, Creative Director of Design at Microsoft. Kevin leads a world-class team of industrial designers and spearheads the packaging vision of Microsoft’s creative strategy for brands worldwide. During his presentation, Kevin will share his experiences of creating globally recognisable packaging concepts for the likes of Xbox, Surface and Windows Office.

Also forming part of the exclusive Pentawards Conference line-up is Richard Walzer, Head of Design, EMEA at Mars Wrigley Confectionery. Richard is responsible for leading a team of regional associates and championing the design function in the EMEA territory. This ensures the delivery of customer-centric solutions that meet the requirements of global brands and individual markets. During his session, Richard will discuss that design is no longer just about iconography but is instead about distinctiveness, consistency and relevance.

Chloe Templeman, Creative Director at Design Bridge, a multi-award-winning design agency known for bold thinking and brave design will also take to the stage. Chloe will draw on her first-hand experiences of collaborating with brands from a host of sectors, including Gordons, Fortnum & Mason and Cadburys, to deliver award-winning designs.

In addition, Group CEO and Managing Director of packaging design and branding company Stranger & Stranger, Ivan Bell, will also be presenting. After beginning his career as a multidisciplinary graphic designer in London, Ivan became fascinated with consumer brand packaging for alcoholic beverages and has worked to build the Stranger & Stranger name for over 20 years. Having worked with brands such as Martini, Shackleton and Teeling, Ivan will draw on this expertise to demonstrate what it takes to create world-class beverage design.

In addition to the Pentawards Conference, those looking for top-class design inspiration will be able to get hands-on with the world’s finest packaging designs at the Pentawards Winner’s Exhibit. This year, the feature will showcase the Diamond winners from the past 10 years to celebrate a decade of Packaging Innovations London.

Visitors of the show will also have the exclusive chance to vote for the People’s Choice Award from a curation of the top Pentawards designs from 2018. The winner of the award will be announced at the Pentawards Gala, which will be hosted in London at the end of the second day of the show. All visitors and exhibitors of Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London are also invited to attend the gala, which will offer the opportunity to meet with the world’s leading innovators in packaging design.
