BPG is the largest printing services provider in Europe, Prinovis UK is the UK subsidiary and is the last remaining gravure printing site within the UK.

Prinovis has renewed its UK distribution contract with logistics provider CM Downton for another five years. This extends a relationship that started in 2010 and will be worth around £8 million over the duration of the new contract.

Prinovis UK offers a full range of print related services. In addition to printing magazines and colour supplements for major publishers and news groups at its plant in Speke, Merseyside, it also produces catalogues, leaflets and other printed materials for customers across a wide range of industry sectors.

Downton distributes loads direct from the Speke plant to Prinovis UK customers throughout the UK, including the key news wholesalers. Downton personnel are based on site to liaise with the plant's production and warehouse teams and plan loads. In addition, Downton maintains a core fleet of eight vehicles at the site to fulfil the deliveries, with additional capacity provided by its wider national transport network.

David Hutchings, Head of Business Development at CM Downton, said: "This contract extension is testimony to the excellent service and strong relationship that we have built with Prinovis UK over the past eight years. Our on-site team goes that extra mile and provides the close support that makes a real difference to the day-to-day operation. Overall the contract is another example of how we configure and deliver highly effective integrated solutions for our clients across the UK print, publishing and paper industry."
