2016 sees business expansion for Barnes Logistics

Barnes Logistics has seen major business expansion throughout 2016 with new vehicles, staff members and premises.

13 new vehicles were acquired in 2016 consisting of 10 Scania R440 6x2 tractors and 3 Scania P230 18 tonne box body, which equated to an investment of almost £750,000 and taking their fleet to over 60 vehicles.

Chris Barnes, MD of Barnes Logistics, comments, "It's great to expand our business to help our clients and customers meet the demand for their products and extend our range and reach to match the ever-growing demand for effective logistics solutions."

Given the new size of the fleet, Barnes Logistics took the decision to move to larger headquarters and are now based in Rochdale. Not only do these new headquarters accommodate the Barnes vehicles, but also benefitted from two office blocks, state of the art warehousing and was conveniently located near to excellent road networks - being less than two miles from the M62.

With a larger fleet and new base, Barnes Logistics expanded their teams. Barnes welcomed 3 new members of staff to the business, working across both the transport and HR departments. Furthermore, Barnes also employed more drivers in 2016 than ever before with over 100 drivers on the road every day.

Barnes Logistics specialises in providing logistical support and warehousing to customers across the UK. The company operates a fleet of more than 60 vehicles from seven depots across the UK and warehousing in Rochdale.
