A Lutterworth-based logistics firm has acquired a new warehouse at Magna Park, creating 100 jobs in the process.

Core Management Logistics (CML) has taken out a long-term lease on the 104,000 sq ft warehouse on Wellington Parkway, its third facility at Magna Park. The site became operational last month.

CML3, as the warehouse will be known, will first be used to handle increased stock requirements for major retail clients over the Christmas period and beyond including Marks & Spencer.

In addition to providing additional storage capacity for the warehouse, CML's freight, sales and marketing teams and some of its operations team will also relocate to offices at the new site in January.

The site provides 13,000 pallet spaces and 13 loading bays alongside ample shelving and picking capacity.

The announcement on the new warehouse follows a period of substantial growth for CML which has seen the company win contracts with a range of new clients, including an agreement to distribute GH Bass footwear across the UK and Europe and warehousing and fulfilment for iconic retailer Lulu Guinness.

CML's Managing Director, Mark Webb said: "This is an exciting step forward for the business, which allows us to expand on the high quality service we offer to our growing client base.

"We are delighted to be providing 100 new jobs in Lutterworth and expanding our presence within Magna Park, which is one of the logistics industry's major UK hubs.

"Lutterworth's location in the centre of the country, in the 'Golden Triangle' between the M1, M6 and M69, is ideal for businesses like ours. It is also within easy reach of East Midlands Airport which is now the UK's busiest pure cargo airport. We're very positive about the direction and expansion of our business."
