Brake, the road safety charity, is running a free webinar for fleet and road safety professionals on the latest developments in vehicle technologies and the safety benefits they offer.

The webinar will be delivered by Brake Professional, Brake's low-cost membership service for professionals working in the field of fleet safety. Brake Professional shares training, tools, and guidance on global fleet safety best practice with its members, as well as networking and development opportunities. Find out more about Brake Professional.

Brake's latest webinar, The future of vehicle safety, sponsored by SmartDrive, is an opportunity to learn about emerging safety technologies and what they mean for the future of managing occupational road risk.

Speakers will explore emerging safety technologies including Autonomous Emergency Breaking (AEB) and Lane Keep Assist Systems (LKAS), sharing essential information for professionals working in the areas of fleet, transport, and risk management.

Speakers will also explore in-vehicle technologies such as telematics and cameras, the benefits these technologies can offer, and how to maximise these benefits and reduce collisions. The webinar is an opportunity to hear from experts in the field, as well as a case study from a fleet operator who has successfully employed in-vehicle technology in their fleet.

Ellie Pearson, professional engagement manager at Brake, said: "It is vitally important that fleet operators keep engaged and up to date with the latest advances in vehicle technology, and utilise the benefits of emerging technologies. This webinar will provide helpful advice for any organisation requiring their employees to drive for work, and I'd encourage anyone involved in managing occupational road risk to sign up for this free webinar to find out more."

Aidan Rowsome, Vice President EMEA at SmartDrive, said: "Research has shown that for every three hundred unsafe driving acts, there will be twenty-nine minor collisions and one major collision. We believe that the key to eliminating major collisions is working with fleets to tackle unsafe behaviours. SmartDrive has been helping fleets identify and reduce risky driving behaviour, to drive down operating costs and save lives for over fourteen years.

Our partnership with BRAKE is an endorsement of their proactive approach to driver safety performance. Safe and anticipative driving has the biggest influence on avoidable incidents that can occur on the road. A proactive video-based driver risk management programme provides one of the quickest and most effective methods to make significant gains from a safety, financial and operational perspective for all fleets."
