Priority Freight, the global provider of contingency logistics solutions, has enhanced its operations in the heart of mainland Europe by setting up a new, dedicated emergency air freight department at its office in Willich, Germany.
The upgraded office – located less than 25 kilometres from Düsseldorf International Airport – has been fitted with Priority Freight's first-class tracking and information technology (IT) systems, which will improve speed and reliability of air freight traffic movements.
The bespoke, cloud-based IT system provides real-time tracking of deliveries, route mapping and automated processing and handling of documentation – and integrates securely with clients' business software.

Priority Freight has hired Bernd Thewissen to oversee development of the new emergency air freight operations in Willich. Bernd brings a wealth of air freight experience to the company from his time at DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, Hartrodt and Geodis.
Priority Freight operates a highly secure, cloud-based logistics tracking system, giving clients full visibility of all shipments in transit, as well as live updates on agreed key performance indicators (KPIs) and freight spend. The system, which is fully compatible with leading enterprise resource planning software such as SAP and Oracle, includes a module for speedy booking of transport orders and for initiating billing processes.
