Marchon Eyewear, one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of quality eyewear and sunwear, collaborated with system integrator Inther Logistics Engineering BV in order to automate its EMEA distribution centre based in Amsterdam.
A Stingray shuttle system, which provides for automatic storage and retrieval of the eyewear, is connected to receiving, goods-to-man picking and packing stations through a network of roller conveyors and belts. Picking of the orders is done with the help of a pick to light system. The entire system is controlled by the Warehouse Control System Inther LC.
The system has now been operational for several weeks.
