XPO Logistics leverages nationwide network to deliver a time-critical delivery solution for Door-Stop International

XPO Logistics has secured a multi-million pound, three-year contract with quality door manufacturer Door-Stop International to deliver products from its site in Nottingham to customers across the UK.

Part of the global Masonite group, Door-Stop designs and manufactures high end, built-to-order composite external doors. Orders placed through Door-Stop's one-minute, five-step online ordering system are manufactured and delivered in just four days. Approximately 80% of deliveries are made to installation sites, and the rest are shipped to builders' merchants. Any door not delivered on time is provided free of charge to the customer.

XPO Logistics has redesigned Door-Stop's supply chain to ensure the reliable execution of approximately 4,500 deliveries a month, totalling over 10,000 doors. XPO Logistics utilises its nationwide network to cost effectively truck high volumes of goods into depots at Rochester and Gloucester. Custom-made stillages ensure the product arrives in excellent condition.

Two-man XPO Logistics teams complete the last mile deliveries with a regionally based, customised fleet of sprinter vans. Augmenting the delivery service, an on-call XPO Logistics technical team is available to fix minor door issues on site. This comprehensive solution also allows for future growth in both volume and geography.
