A Colchester-based logistics firm with three depots in the South East has announced plans to open a brand new operation in Heathrow.
SLi will be launching its Heathrow operation next month which will expand its air cargo and express distribution services, making the firm one of the largest members in the market-leading network, Palletways. The new depot means that SLi will be able to offer a comprehensive range of supply chain and logistics services from four dedicated UK sites which are strategically placed at the largest UK sea and airports.
The firm has invested almost £½ m into the new venture - investment which has helped secure ten new vehicles and trailers and will support the nine full time jobs that have been brought to the area.
Richard Triolo, managing director, said: "We've had ambitions for a long time to extend our reach and move into worldwide shipping and the new Heathrow facility means we'll be able to offer a range of global logistics services which is really exciting."
The new depot launch follows an extremely successful year of trading for SLi. Richard continues: "Over the past few months we've been lucky enough to win a whole host of globally recognised accreditations that acknowledge that we are a secure supply chain service provider. We are approved to fast-track consignments, clear customs at any port directly from our head office in Colchester, book cargo onto flights and declare cargo safe for boarding passenger aircraft. The reasons we are able to do this is because we meet the highest safety and security standards and as we are aiming to grow this part of the business, means a great deal to us all."
