GGP Systems strengthens management team

Geographical software specialist GGP Systems has strengthened its senior management team with two key appointments. Jeremy Thomas joins the south London based company as Business Development Manager while David James takes on the position of Account and Project Manager. Both experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) professionals, Thomas and James will combine their new roles with account management duties; building and maintaining relationships with GGP's public sector client base.

GGP has been at the forefront of the development of modern GIS in local government for more than 22 years and has pioneered the development of Gazetteer Management Software, web delivery and interoperable geospatial software.

"Having recently celebrated 22 years of developing, implementing and supporting cutting edge solutions to support public sector organisation in their use of geographic information it was time to implement a more structured senior management team," commented Tim Maxwell, founder and Managing Director of GGP Systems. "Jeremy and David will both play critical roles as we prepare GGP systems for the next stage of its development."

Part of the Kingston University 'vanguard' class of 1992 Jeremy Thomas was one of the first to obtain a degree in GIS anywhere in the world. He then went to work for nearby Surrey County Council before holding senior positions with global consultancy company White Young Green, Alliance Unichem (rebranded to Alliance Healthcare), Claritas and MapMechanics. Thomas joins GGP Systems having successfully started, grown and passed the day to day running of over to a partner, his own infrared thermography business.

David James has more than 18 years' experience in the consultancy market including over ten years in GIS. Working for one of the world's premiere engineering, procurement, construction and services companies KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root), James managed GIS projects for a prestigious client base including Transport for London, BP, Environment Agency, NHS and the Department for Transport, People and Places. James also established his own GIS Company GeoSolveIt providing a full range of consultancy and support services.

GGP Systems specialise in GIS and Gazetteer Management solutions specifically designed for the UK public sector. The South London based company provides easy to use software for the creation and management of corporate property databases, the ability to add and use a spatial element to all location based information and a range of solutions to meet both national and international Government directives.
