UK racking and shelving specialist, Stakrak Limited, has upgraded and extended its ColdRoom+ hygienic shelving system. Designed with an open wire, bolt-free construction, ColdRoom+ is an extremely versatile modular shelving system offering a compelling strength-to-weight ratio. The range is now available in 27 standard shelf sizes, each of which is easily height adjustable, to provide individual shelf loadings of 300kg UDL. Four standard post size options increase the system's flexibility which may be further enhanced by the addition of castors, to create mobile bays.

Stakrak's ColdRoom+ shelving system is widely used in hygiene sensitive environments including the food and drink industry, hospitals, laboratories and pharmaceutical production areas. For these applications, the shelving's anti corrosive and anti-bacterial properties are invaluable.

This is achieved by applying a zinc substrate to the mild steel wire base which is then coated with polyester powder resin and hard baked to create a hard wearing corrosion resistant finish that is guaranteed for 10 years. The process is applied to all shelves and posts, ensuring total protection that lasts up to five times longer than a traditional nylon coating. Furthermore, the finish also contains 0.2% Ultra-Fresh CA-16 which, in quantitative bacterial tests, showed bacterial count reductions of more than 99.9% against a range of life-threatening bacteria including Streptococcus, E-Coli and Salmonella.

Commenting on the ColdRoom+ shelving system, Stakrak's Sales Director, Mark Richardson, says, "This shelving has proved very popular over the past few years and we expect the recent upgrade and expansion of the range to be welcomed by existing and new customers alike. ColdRoom+ shelving can be safely used in chillers, cold rooms and walk-in freezers at temperatures down to -28°C so its uses are almost limitless. We also hold the range in stock so delivery to site can be made within 72 hours."
