Ogilvie Fleet is considered to be the best in its industry sector in Northern Ireland after being named Fleet Service Company of the Year. Ogilvie Fleet won the top title at the inaugural Business Eye Northern Ireland Fleet Industry Awards.

The company was also highly commended in the Customer Service Award and Best Local Fleet Provider Award categories.

The Awards, which followed a Discussion Forum about the key issues facing the fleet vehicle marketplace in Northern Ireland and a Motor Show, were attended by 350 people and held at the Clandeboye Lodge Hotel, Bangor.

The fleet industry awards were judged by an independent panel drawn from the business and motor trade community in Northern Ireland.

Ogilvie Fleet was described by the judges as a "clear winner of the category for a range of customer care initiatives including clear policies on vehicle disposal, end of period damage and short term rentals".

The triumph builds on a string of industry awards won by Ogilvie Fleet in recent years including, most recently, becoming the first vehicle leasing and fleet management company to win the Fleeteye CSI (customer satisfaction index) Award four years in succession.

Ogilvie Fleet entered the Northern Ireland market some years ago when it started to provide a funding stream to enable existing contract hire providers in the province to secure business after large funders started to withdraw.

In late 2012 Ogilvie Fleet announced it was investing around £2.5 million in its business in the province as well as making available to its Northern Ireland customers the raft of fleet management online tools and other services that in recent years have transformed the company into a multi award-winning success on the UK mainland.

Additionally, in the first half of 2013 the company relocated to Quay Gate House in Belfast, one of the city's most prominent and prestigious city centre addresses. The move has enabled Ogilvie Fleet to be on track to triple to 3,000 vehicles the size of its flourishing business with public, private and voluntary sector organisations in the thriving province.

Jim Humphreys, who has worked in the leasing industry in Northern Ireland for many years, and was recruited as regional manager to lead the Ogilvie Fleet team in the province, was presented with the Award at the glittering ceremony.

He said: "Ogilvie Fleet is on track to become the number one vehicle leasing provider in Northern Ireland and being named the best Fleet Service Company in the province will further accelerate our ambitions.

"We believe it is possible to achieve our goal as a result of on-going investment, the availability to customers in the province of our multi award-winning product portfolio as well as innovative web-based solutions for fleet decision-makers and drivers and finally first-class customer service."

Mr Humphreys added: "We have customers with two or three cars and we are also working with clients that have more complex and diverse fleet requirements. Either way, Ogilvie Fleet is providing the value, the customer care and the choice that they're looking for.

"Customers in Northern Ireland want to benefit from account management at a local level and we are not only complying with that wish but our ongoing investment in vehicle management systems means service levels are at, we believe, unprecedented levels."

Ogilvie Fleet sales and marketing director Nick Hardy added: "The Award is proof positive that Ogilvie Fleet is at the forefront of the fleet industry across the UK.

"But we will not rest on our laurels. While our record of awards over recent years proves the strength of our customer service proposition, we know that there are areas that require fine tuning to ensure Ogilvie Fleet continues to lead the UK contract hire and leasing industry."
