Silverstone Circuit has utilised NetDespatch to enable them to quickly integrate their ticketing website with their parcel carrier to distribute tickets for the upcoming 2013 FIM Superbike World Championship.

Silverstone is the highlight of the racing calendar for many and, as such, the organisers wanted to make sure there were no problems with ticket deliveries for eager fans. They turned to APC Overnight, the UK's largest next day parcel delivery network, whose delivery success rates consistently stand at over 99 percent, to ensure that their tickets arrived on time.

Earlier this summer Silverstone sent more than 40,000 tickets for the 2013 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix, through the NetDespatch processing platform over a six week period for delivery by Action Express, their local APC distribution centre.

Silverstone needed a quick-to-implement solution that could process thousands of orders directly from their website, and then automatically produce the required parcel labels, manifests and electronic pre-advice to the carrier, that would underpin the timely distribution of tickets to eager fans.

NetDespatch recommended the use of Connector, their popular and flexible secure file import technology, to enable the Silverstone ticketing system to send orders directly to the NetDespatch web-based processing platform. Use of the 'Consignment Despatch' facility via simple web forms, allows Silverstone staff to review and amend customer details prior to printing the shipping labels, ensuring that customers who have changed their address are able to redirect the delivery before despatch. This seamless integration reduces the risk of human error in address labelling and ensures that operational efficiency and customer service is maximised.

NetDespatch is a leading provider of "platform" and "software as a service" integration solutions for customers of postal and parcel carriers worldwide and is expert in creating innovative integration solutions. It connects retailers, mail order companies, manufacturers and service organisations to their postal and parcel carriers using advanced web-based software and services. Using their broad portfolio of integration tools NetDespatch were able to propose an 'out of the box' solution for Silverstone which included a custom despatch alert email, including details of events, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Sue Walton, Despatch Supervisor at Silverstone Circuit commented, "The NetDespatch solution is easy to get to grips with, required little-or-no training and has been excellent from day one. We have already seen more than 50,000 tickets pass through the NetDespatch platform and the automation makes the entire despatch process effortless and efficient."

"We were extremely pleased to have been able to implement this solution for Silverstone. Our wide portfolio of integration tools meant that we were able to implement their integration with APC Overnight within a very short timeframe," added Steve Sneath, Retail Solutions Expert at NetDespatch.
