AEB (International) Ltd, provider of supply chain logistics software, has joined the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA), Britain's trade organisation representing the third party logistics (3PL) sector.

Joining UKWA will enable AEB to take advantage of a broad range of benefits including professional knowledge exchanges, networking with other members and industry experts on relevant industry matters, raising awareness for warehouse related trends and challenges, and options to join various events and industry gatherings. AEB will have the opportunity to provide expert input on supply chain management and global trade management topics, and benefit from the vast wealth of knowledge across the UKWA membership. AEB will also feature in the UKWA's comprehensive trade directory – the essential industry guide for anyone looking to select providers for solutions in and around the warehouse.

Claire Umney, AEB's General Manager, said: "We are delighted to join the UK Warehousing Association and look forward to meeting our fellow members and engaging in industry discussions. As a provider of software, consultancy and services for end-to-end supply chain management, we understand the warehouses' crucial role at the operational centre of complex supply chain networks. We offer solutions that support various business strategies to efficiently manage and operate warehouses and distribution centres with an integrated approach to upstream and downstream logistics processes, including shipping documentation, freight cost management and customs management. With the warehouse both an integral part of global supply chains and positioned at the centre of AEB's solutions portfolio, it was important for us to become an official member of UKWA, and we are happy to be part of it."

UKWA has over 650 member companies operating nearly 10 million square metres of warehousing from around 2000 depots across the UK. While third party warehousing and logistics service providers make up the majority of UKWA members, retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers are also free to join. In addition, UKWA now welcomes members from outside the United Kingdom's borders into its membership.

UKWA's main objectives are representing members' views to government departments and agencies, the European Commission and Parliament and other relevant organisations; promoting the warehousing and logistics industry; protecting the interests of the member company through the provision of effective conditions of contract and raising the industry's standards through training and best practice.
