Online vehicle maintenance and compliance network R2C Online is planning major  expansion with the appointment of Martin Port, the IT entrepreneur and former head of vehicle tracking company, Masternaut. The Sheffield company's rapid expansion is a result of the increasing demand for its easy to use online solution to help commercial vehicle operators, suppliers and repairers meet stringent vehicle compliance requirements and boost efficiency. The company has  also recruited additional sales and marketing personnel and is planning to take  on more staff in other departments.

As a company director and  investor, Martin Port joins the established management team comprising MD and  R2C Online founder Nick Walls and chairman Laurence Vaughan, Non Executive  Chairman of Sytner Group, the largest prestige motor group in Europe.

"The R2C Online Service Network is a comprehensive, flexible and  secure next-generation web-based service platform for all commercial vehicle operators and repairers, whatever the size of their operation. The platform is  now becoming the de facto standard solution for the industry and we are experiencing a growing demand for the product, as companies recognize it  provides an efficient and cost-effective paperless compliance, inspection,  service maintenance and repair environment. We already have 1500 companies  across the UK using the platform to manage more than 100,000 assets," says Nick Walls.

"Martin joins the company at a very opportune time as his  expertise in cloud delivered technology and his vast experience in the transport  and logistics sector adds strength to the team. His entrepreneurship in the  fleet IT sector and his customer-focused outlook and business skills complement  the team," he adds.

Fleet managers use R2C Online to exchange  electronic vehicle/asset planning data, recall notices and campaign information  with maintenance workshops, vehicle operators and suppliers. The system  eliminates paperwork and enables organisations to establish and maintain fully  documented audit trails on what work has been carried out on their vehicles and  helping them comply with legislation.  It also provides an instant view of  their fleets, reducing the total cost of their assets and maximizing utilization  of vehicles.
