At LogiMAT 2012, Dematic will be showcasing live the world premiere of the new Multishuttle Generation II. The total solutions provider will also be demonstrating a comprehensive range of cost-effective and resource-efficient solutions to visitors on their 160 m2 stand number 631 in Hall 1. The focus will also be on the new RapidStore automatic storage and retrieval system, the high-performance RapidPick order picking station, and Warehouse Management Systems DC Director and SAP EWM.

Efficiency, flexibility and sustainability for maximum user benefit are the focus of Dematic's trade show presence at LogiMAT 2012, running from 13th to 15th March 2012 at the Stuttgart exhibition grounds. On a stand of 160 square metres, the total solutions provider for automated intralogistics will be presenting the latest systems and solutions for increasing the efficiency of internal storage processes. In a live application, Stuttgart will witness for the first time the new Multishuttle Generation II; currently the most efficient shuttle system on the market. In presenting the RapidStore storage and retrieval system, the ergonomic RapidPick order picking station - first launched in 2011 - and the focus on the company's own Warehouse Management Systems DC Director and SAP EWM, the innovative company promises to make quite a splash with its trade show offering.

World premiere: Multishuttle Generation II
Order processing optimised by a factor of 5

The attention-grabber at the trade show will undoubtedly be the new Multishuttle Generation II. This will be demonstrated live to the public for the first time at the show. Lighter, faster, more cost-effective and with greater functionality the new shuttle's key features deliver maximum dynamics for storing and buffering a wide variety of goods. The basis for this is a new, innovative control, communication and sensor concept, as well as  new, flexible load suspension equipment  which can process containers, trays and cartons with a wide range of dimensions in the one system without the need for additional trays. Thanks to an innovative system design, the Multishuttle II also reduces throughput times in order processing by 75 to 80 percent in comparison to standard mini-load technologies, lowers total system costs, and reduces the space required for the system.

For high-end performance and efficient process design, there is also the newly developed range of shelf-servicing equipment for small parts from Dematic: RapidStore. Key benefits of the equipment include energy efficiency and low energy consumption, and they are available in three height categories as standard systems: As a single-mast system for 10 or 14 metre heights, and as a twin-mast storage and retrieval device up to 20 metres. Depending on the device type, inward and outward storage operations of cartons, containers and trays are possible up to four deep. Multiple types of load carrying equipment are also available as options.

Small parts order picking on a new level of performance and quality The fully automated high-performance RapidPick order picking station is one of the most cutting-edge stations on the market for ergonomically optimised single item order picking according to the goods-to-person principle. The revolutionary, fully automated presentation of the containers, with ergonomically optimised positioning, container changeover times of less than one second, and the dialogue-led work instructions via display and light support, permit order picking rates of up to 1,000 orderlines or 1,500 picks per hour. The station is available as a 1:1 or 1:6 station, in which up to six order containers can be processed simultaneously.

Software for resource-efficiency and 20 percent lower operating costs For efficient control of intralogistics processes, Dematic will be presenting in Stuttgart the multi-client compatible Warehouse Management System DC Director with enhanced functionality and a redesigned user interface. Key features alongside warehouse operations and management: flexible interfaces to standard ERP systems, as well as an SAP-certified host interface, coordination and control of sub-systems, order picking and transport processes.

A further focus of the IT presentation will be the SAP Extended Warehouse Management expertise at Dematic. Dematic is one of the few high-profile SAP implementation partners specialising in warehouse logistics and will be presenting its SAP EWM MFS system. The Dematic SAP EWM MFS can be used to map the entire warehouse typology in SAP EWM, for example. It facilitates a consistent, SAP-based IT-infrastructure, extending from the high level Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system through to the control level (PLC) of the warehouse automation.

In the shape of the software module "Dematic Ecodrive", Dematic offers IT for improved energy efficiency in the process control of automated warehouses. The software module improves the CO2 emissions of automated warehouses by ten to fifteen percent and fulfils the protocol requirements for tax savings in line with ISO 16001. The resource efficiency generated in this way achieves a financial benefit of between 10,000 and 100,000 euros per year based on the example of five shelf-servicing systems for 30,000 pallet and container storage spaces.
