The latest software innovation from Mayrise Systems is playing an important role in keeping highways lit at night. Providing real time asset management matched to complex maps of the highway lighting network, Mayrise Street Lighting is helping identify and record faults, deliver a timely and efficient maintenance and repair programme and provide accurate management reporting.  The system is being used by Balfour Beatty Mott Macdonald for managing their Highways Agency contract in south east England.

Mayrise for Street Lighting enables Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald to maintain an accurate asset database of the street lighting network including street lighting columns, illuminated signs, Feeder Pillars and illuminated bollards. The software also maintains information detailing the cable runs between Feeder Pillars and services units. Integrated mapping software, Mayrise MapNow, is used to display the actual location of units improving service delivery and analysis of performance.

"Mayrise enables us to maintain a complete service history for every lighting unit, allowing us to quickly identify its condition, age and fault history. This makes for better targeting of network faults and the identification of potential replacement upgrade of the street lighting asset" commented Rory O'Connor Street Lighting Design Team Leader for Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald.

Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald currently operates major contracts in the South East, Area 4 and South West, Area 2. The contract with the Highways Agency covers maintenance of the road network including winter maintenance, grass cutting, gully emptying along with replacement programmes such as road renewal works in the summer, keeping drains, ditches and gullies clear, tensioning safety barriers and replacing and repairing street lighting units as well as providing Traffic Management for all relevant works.

The Mayrise street lighting system is a complete management system designed to simplify and improve the management of street lighting. It provides fast online access to inventory, contractor and customer records and incorporates instant mapping to pinpoint asset or fault locations. Handling cyclic maintenance, fault management, electrical testing and financial control Mayrise Street Lighting also links to corporate GIS and portable computers for field data entry and mapping.
