Damien McGuinn, Logistics Optimisation Manager at Ballina Beverages, has been been presented with a Vitus Optimum III bicycle from the Worlds Largest Online Bike Store, Chain Reaction Cycles, having won the prize draw held on Dematics exhibition stand at last Novembers IMHX exhibition.

Dematics Head of Product Solutions, Stuart Stables, together with Marketing & Events Manager, Angela Freke, presented Damien with the top of the range cross-country bike, which retails at 2999.99. The prize also included a helmet, cycling clothes, glasses and other accessories.

An extremley keen cyclist, Damien competes in about five cycling events a year, many of which are endurence races. I am extremely delighted to win the bike, he said. It will certainly get a lot of use. It looks great and is so light weight, which will really come in handy for the forthcoming bike races I have entered, you never know it might help me win!

Stuart Stables said: We wish Damien all the best in his future bike races  - lets hope the bike brings him some luck.

Based in County Mayo in north-west Ireland, Ballina Beverages manufactures concentrates and beverage bases for Coca-Cola bottling companies throughout the world. Damiens responsibilities include supply chain enhancements, transport and distribution, third party logistics management and warehouse automation solutions, so it comes as no surprise that he found Dematics stand at IMHX to be of great interest, particularly its moving equipment displays, the companys Multishuttle Flex and, of course, the draw for the bike.  The draw highlighted a recent project in which Dematics Product Solutions Division supplied Chain Reaction Cycles with a solution for voice picking, packing and conveying as well as a tailored warehouse management system in a scheme that will deliver a 50% improvement in order picking efficiency.
