Logistics recruitment firm, Transline Resource Group, is happy to announce a major sole supplier contract with mail order retail giant Argos - through Wincanton. Located at Barton under Needwood near Burton on Trent - the new contract will require up to 60 Class 1 HGV drivers (sourced locally) a day at peak - 100% of the site's total driver requirement.

This adds to the strong presence the recruiter already has in the Burton area with 20-30 drivers being supplied a day through CEVA logistics at Branston and up to 350 warehousing staff being provided by the firms industrial division at the Centrum 100 industrial Estate.

Following on from its success with managing the Wincanton for Argos contracts at both Heywood and Castleford, Transline Resource Driving were invited to discuss the possibility of managing the Barton site in a similar format and are now delighted to have secured its first contract with Argos in the Midlands region.

"We're very proud of our strong relationship with Wincanton and Argos at Heywood and Middleton," said Transline Resource Managing Director Paul Beasley. "To be continuing that relationship in the Burton area is excellent news and we look forward to contributing to a very professionally run operation."

Wincanton for Argos Northern Regional Transport Manager, Nigel Clarke added: "In order to maintain high levels of efficiency, agency staff need to be well trained, productive and punctual. Transline Resource staff are precisely that and its driver training and on-site teams respond very quickly. We were therefore happy to award this contract and look forward to its continued support."

Transline Resource Driving will this week begin the transition phase and over the next 8 to 12 weeks it hopes to take full control of staff provision on site.

Transline Resource National Contracts Manager Stephen Carr, who will be overseeing implementation, added: "Over the next month we will be getting to know the contract and will actively be recruiting in the area. We'll be advertising and are encouraging any HGV Class 1 drivers to contact our on-site representatives."
