An innovative diesel-engine/lithium-ion-battery hybrid forklift will take centre stage on the Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks stand at this year's CeMAT exhibition. Taking place from 2 to 6 May in Hannover, the industry's major international materials handling event will focus particularly on sustainability and innovation.

With its GRENDIA EX 4.0 to 5.0 tonne hybrid prototype, Mitsubishi scores highly on both counts said to achieve a 39% fuel efficiency advantage over traditional engines of similar capacity.

As well as an early concept version of the manufacturer's forthcoming power pallet family, there will a sneak preview of its eagerly anticipated 1.3 to 2.0 tonne, 48 volt, 3 and 4 wheel electric counterbalance series.

Visitors will also be able to look at the current, comprehensive range of Mitsubishi counterbalance and warehouse trucks, equipped with the latest innovations and accessories.

Marijn Nijhof, who is co-ordinating Mitsubishi's attendance at CeMAT, says:  "The European economy is showing early signs of recovery and we want to give a clear message that Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks is ready for the future.  Visitors to our stand will see how strongly we support CeMAT's sustainability and innovation themes."

Mitsubishi can be found in Hall 25 on Stand G29.
