Total Logistics expands team in UK and The Netherlands

Supply chain consultancy Total Logistics has made five new, full-time appointments to cope with the growing demand for its supply chain consultancy services. The firm has seen significant demand in the areas of transport network development, inventory management and supply chain optimisation.

Jon Porter has been appointed as a senior consultant, with over 20 years' experience in supply chain management in the UK, Africa, Belgium, Netherlands, Thailand and Australia. Through Crown Agents and DHL/Exel, he has experience of developing and operating solutions for healthcare and pharmaceutical clients including the NHS, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Smith & Nephew, Sanofi-Aventis, Tyco Healthcare, Novartis and Boehringer Ingelheim.  He has particular expertise in operational management, warehouse systems, project and implementation management, inventory management, forecasting and financial control.  He is based at the firm's UK head office in Wokingham.

Stuart Parsons has joined Total Logistics' UK team as a senior consultant, with over 5 years' experience in the retail supply chain. Stuart has a degree in mathematics and he joins the consultancy from leading electrical retailer Comet, where he was supply chain planning manager.

Paul Pouwels has been appointed senior consultant, working out of Total Logistics' offices in Roermond, The Netherlands.  Paul has an MSc in industrial engineering and management science from the Eindhoven University of Technology. He has six years' experience in the 3PL and 4PL sectors. His previous roles encompassed the fashion and automotive sectors at the Ewals Cargo Care Group including developing processes, transport management, RFQ processing, cost control and transport network optimisation.

Ian Kendell recently joined as a senior consultant. Ian has a Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield School of Management.  He has 18 years' industrial experience, gained within the materials handling industry, with Daifuku, Chep and as Managing Director of Container Centralen UK, after which he worked in consultancy before joining Total Logistics.  His consultancy experience includes improving supply chain operations across the manufacturing, utilities and energy sectors.

Craig Ryder has joined the firm's UK operation as a senior consultant specialising in contract logistics and distribution network design. With a degree in chemistry from Durham University, Craig has previously worked for Norbert Dentressangle, Morrisons and most recently Kuehne and Nagel, in a variety of transport, warehouse and business development roles.
