Cartwright Group enters home delivery sector with order from Asda

Manchester based body and trailer manufacturer The Cartwright Group, has recently entered the home delivery market following an order from retail giant Asda. Asda Home Delivery has recently confirmed an order for 50 3.5 tonne Iveco vehicles with automatic gear boxes. Each home delivery vehicle has the capacity for 105 tote boxes and can accommodate chilled, frozen and ambient produce.



The Asda order is the Cartwright Group's first step into the rapidly expanding home delivery market. Asda is already a major customer of the Cartwright Group operating a number of trailers including the Cheetah range of trailers. Steven Cartwright, Director of The Cartwright Group commented:  "Asda have been a major customer of ours for eight years and we are delighted by their decision to extend their product requirement to include our specially designed home delivery vehicles.

"We see the home delivery sector as a major market for the future and we are confident our long experience of manufacturing and innovative style will help us to build market share in this growing sector of the marketplace," he added.

John Rogerson (Fleet Contracts Manager) of Asda Stores Ltd commented: "As a key supply partner, the Cartwright Group has supplied a wide range of trailer specification and designs over the last eight years; this latest order extends our requirements from them to our home delivery vehicles. We have been impressed by their ability to supply a quality product that meets our technical requirements."
