Introducing ArcticSuperStores

Over the years the UK hire market for portable cold stores has been divided in 2 groups; those operating containers and those offering alternative, often called wide body, modular solutions. The ArcticSuperStores combine the financial benefits of containers with the market demand for larger and more flexible storage space.

SuperStores are a purpose designed and built container based solution that is probably better than many, perhaps most, of the modular wide body solutions currently available in the market. All standard features like internal lighting and personnel alarms are included and there are many additional advantages including: improved internal hygiene with stainless steel walls and non-slip flat aluminium flooring, floors structure that permits use of fork lift trucks and all forms of pallet lifters, 50 tons/42 UK pallet capacity in 40' Super 2 model, low power/high effect refrigeration provides reliable and accurate temperature control from -30oC to +30oC in ambient temperatures from +50oC to -30oC, high insulation values, easy to operate doors including internal opening and fire retardant properties including all steel construction and self extinguishing ISO 3582 PU insulation.
 
In controlled 31 hour factory tests 22nd 23rd June the pull down time for a Super 2, 4 pallet wide model from +28.6oC to -18oC was less than 3 hours with dual machines. Single machine operation required around 4 hours to achieve -18oC return air readings after defrost. Tests were performed outside in hazy conditions with ambient temperatures from 22oC to 39oC. The average ambient over the 31 hours was in excess of 30oC.
 
In theory there is no limit to how many SuperStores are joined together to make a single storage facility that can be outside, inside or connected to buildings. A Super 5 installation measures 12 x 12.5 meters, has 110 UK pallet capacity and operates with maximum 3 low power/high effect machines.
 
Delivery and site assembly costs are comparable with the increased delivery costs often associated with wide body modules.
