The 2010 British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride took place on 20th June. The event was the UK's largest charity bike ride with 29,000 riders cycling the scenic route between London and Brighton on the south coast.
Swindon-based vehicle tracking company CMS SupaTrak supported one of their employees, Matt Martin, who successfully cycled the 54 mile route, raising money for the British Heart Foundation; the nations heart charity, dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care and providing vital information. The charity relies on donations of time and money to continue their life-saving work and the annual bike ride helps to fund this.
Matt, along with Ian Bendermacher and Helen Martin had only 15 days notice to train for this huge cycling event, but all three successfully completed the ride in 5 and a half hours.
Matt explained that there were so many people involved in the event this year that we actually struggled with traffic jams. He continued by saying that the atmosphere was brilliant. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it is for such as good cause. We will definitely do it again next year!
