The 5th edition of Materials Handling Middle East was a huge success. 175 industry leaders from 27 countries and 6,805 key buyers from 82 countries expressed their complete satisfaction, marking the biannual exhibition and conference as the definite leader of materials handling and logistics events in the region.
Strategically dated to take place on May 2011, the upcoming Materials Handling Middle East is once again being equipped as a must attend event for everyone involved in supply chain.
It is pleasing to note that Materials Handling Middle East in 2009, dedicated to the advancement of the logistics and supply chain sector in the UAE and neighbouring regions, has hauled in such an optimistic response from regional experts, including the government sector," said Mr. Mahmut Gazi Bilikozen, Senior Show Manager of the trade event.
Mr. Bilikozen added, Consequently, majority of this year's exhibitors have already confirmed their participation in the next exhibition and many want to increase their space requirements, ascertaining a much larger event in May 2011.
Materials Handling Middle East was officially inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chief Executive and Chairman of the Emirates Group on May 31st, 2009. The exhibition allows the participants to penetrate and develop their market share in the GCC, Middle East, Africa, Indian subcontinent, and the CIS.
The recently concluded Materials Handling Middle East show was extremely well organized. The visitor turnout and diversity exceeded the previous edition of the show, which is testimony to the excellent marketing of the event. Needless to say, we are committed to this event and will not be considering alternate events when choosing a materials handling exhibition in Dubai, remarked Mr. Sudhir Tripathi, General Const. Despite the fears of recession, the event received incredibly positive response from the participants, which came as a result of the high level of visitors that came to Materials Handling Middle East in June 2009. 89% of the exhibitors rated the visitor quality as excellent to adequate, on par with the return on investment.
I would want to take this opportunity to thank the Materials Handling Middle East team for the usual well organised expo and confirm that SSI Schaefer would be willing to continue to support this show on a 2 yearly basis i.e. next show in 2011. There is a proliferation of shows related to the logistics arena in Dubai, with the result the impact of such shows is being diluted, moreover in such economic circumstances it is becoming extremely difficult to exhibit, therefore, we only plan to exhibit in Materials Handling Middle East, in 2011, over other shows which are taking place in the region, stated Mr. Geoff Wheatley, Managing Director (Middle East and Africa), SSI Schaefer Systems International DWC LLC.
The trade event is the largest congregation in the Middle East for everyone involved in the handling of goods-in via the loading bay, to their storage and use on site through to goods-out and beyond. Materials Handling Middle East provides professionals the latest technologies, products and services in logistics, supply chain, freight & cargo, automation, and information & communication technology. In May 2011, the trade exhibition will also welcome a new addition to the existing product profile - Containerization.
