A new freight rate comparison website, cargo-solv.com, which is set to go live this autumn, is offering freight providers an opportunity to join up and register their rates/services in advance for free.

Cargo-solv.com has taken the established model for a price comparison website and applied it to the freight market. It aims to help freight users control shipping costs more effectively by providing them with access to instant quotes from leading domestic and international transport providers, freight forwarders and logistics companies.

For the freight provider, Cargo-solv.com aims to simplify the quotation process and generate access to a much wider potential customer base.   There is no registration or set up fee, all freight providers have to do is input details of their services and rates. After that, they are charged a flat fee for each quotation generated on their behalf.  To register or for more information visit www.cargo-solv.com  Cargo-solv.com is the brainchild of Paul Wilson, a long-time user of freight services, and Howard Mould, who has more than 24 years experience as a provider of freight services.  Paul Wilson said: "Obtaining and providing quotes can be such a slow and time consuming business for both the buyer and seller of freight services so the idea of producing a price comparison website was easy.

However, we have invested a lot of time and money making sure it really meets the needs of both the freight services user and provider." Howard Mould added: "We have designed the cargo-solv.com charging module to be extremely flexible so freight providers will find it easy to enter their rate structure and service details, including routes, transit times, cargo types handled and so on."

Registered freight users will be able to enter their shipment details and instantly receive a list of quotes that meet their needs. The list will detail cost and transit time and can be sorted by the criterion that helps the user to identify their preferred quote. An additional services field allows the user to see further benefits that different companies can provide whilst a performance rating will highlight those freight providers who offer a good service. Users can view a specific quote in detail and request confirmation through the system from the freight provider. All subsequent transactions are between the freight provider and user, with no commissions or additional charges for either party. Paul Wilson commented: "Everyone we speak to is excited by this project. It is a real first for the freight industry."
