Talented trio rev up and slip into top gear for driving acclaim

A trio of top drivers are keeping one of Britains leading business-to-business express delivery companies in the fast lane - so much so that they have been acclaimed as driving superstars. The three topped a competition in their respective categories involving 1,700 other commercial vehicle drivers to win acclaim at TNTs 2009 Driving Superstars Awards.

Working on behalf of the companys instant response arm - TNT Special Services Robert Gay, from, Bedwas, South Wales; George Lewis from Hinckley, Leicestershire and Marcus Gaviao from South London clock up in excess of 220,000 miles a year between them.

Robert bagged the Contract Driver of the Year, George the Four-Wheel Driver of the Year and biker Marcus the Two-Wheel Driver of the Year. Robert said: I love my job I just try to be as professional as I can and treat all my customers as I would like to be treated. I clock up a lot of miles in my van, so I really enjoy running up flights of stairs whenever I can to keep me as fit as possible! Marcus added: I clock up a lot of miles on my bike, and I just love being out on the road. Its very satisfying when you know youve completed your duties on time and without any problems. Winning this award was such a shock, but Im really proud.

Couriers play a crucial role, providing the service we promise and acting as ambassadors for the company.
