KUKA has doubled its range of high-performance palletising robots with a trio of new models specially designed for heavy duty tasks such as packing bulky products including aggregates and chemicals.

They can be seen in action for the first time on KUKAs stand B22 in Hall 25 at LIGNA, the exhibition for the woodworking and wood processing industries, which runs from May 18-22 in Hannover, Germany.

The new variants include the KR 1300 PA, which is based on KUKAs record-breaking Titan robot, and can handle payloads of 1300Kg.  Among the other new additions are palletising robots which feature 5-axis kinematics and new arm and hollow wrist designs. These offer a choice of 300Kg and 470Kg payload options and reach of 3150mm.

Completing the quartet is the KR 700 PA, a 700Kg payload robot, which according to KUKA, delivers the fastest cycle times in its class. It has a reach of 3320mm and incorporates new 4-axis kinematics.

The new models join KUKAs popular series of palletising robots which already include smaller payload versions such as the KR 180 PA, a nimble robot for high speed packing solutions.
