FreightScan, LLC, a leader in the development and deployment of innovative technology solutions for the freight and logistics industry, has integrated an advanced software system, DimPro 2.0, into the automated dimensioning system for its suite of cargo scanning products, which includes the FS100 and FL1000.
DimPro 2.0 is an updated version of the original software application, DimGen 1.8, which powered the FS100 scanning unit when it was launched in November 2007 and the FL1000 when it debuted in November 2008. DimPro 2.0, which now drives both systems, is a more powerful software application, enabling customers to capture, record, display and transfer dimensions and images associated with shipment waybills. The new software also features Global Sentry, a powerful Web-based remote monitoring module that constantly analyzes, diagnoses and updates FS100 and FL1000 systems in use by customers worldwide. DimPro 2.0 offers a vastly streamlined client interface for ease of use and reduces the training time for a FreightScan system to one hour or less.

We are now able to monitor each installed unit from an engineering center at our headquarters facility in Carlsbad, California, and instantly access any system in minutes to make repairs," said Randy Richards, Executive Vice President - Sales and Service for FreightScan. For example, one of our installed FS100 units at Heathrow Airport in London encountered a printing issue. The on-site warehouse agent called in and reported the incident. The agent then went to the lunch cart outside the dock, and by the time he returned, FreightScan had resolved the issue remotely. The customer was amazed that we could act that fast and without the need for any of their resources; there was no downtime, and no personnel required on their part."
FreightScans FS100 automated cargo dimensioning system is a small overhead scanner that creates value by automating the process of capturing measurements and calculating dimensional weight without interrupting workflow. The FS100 dimensions all cargo from small boxes to pallets in 4.0 seconds, increasing warehouse efficiency and maximizing revenue control.
