Its a fact! The transport industry in the UK is still predominantly a mans world. According to APS, in 2007, only 11% of the road transport industry workers were female.
However Manchester based, French Road Freight Specialist, France Line Transport International Ltd is bucking the trend. Its all female team is unique in the industry. Team members, Marie, Jessica, Sobia and Christelle are all bilingual native French speakers who have lived and worked in the UK for a number of years.
A recent independent survey revealed that customers are delighted with the service they receive from these four multi-skilled ladies, aged between 24 and 35 years old, and love their beautiful French accents. The survey included manufacturing companies from a range of industry sectors and also a number of freight forwarders, both in the UK and in France One freight forwarder commented they are worth ten men in my opinion - very friendly with good customers service manners. Manager, Marie Boyer, responded We have found no disadvantages to working in a male dominated industry. What matters is being able to build relationships and adapt to the market. If we can do it, other women can do it too!
This unique team is continuing to drive the success of France Line in these difficult economic times.
