Leading Saudi Arabian supply chain and logistics service provider Hala Supply Chain Services (HSCS) recently celebrated being ranked 15th on the inaugural 2009 Saudi Fast Growth Start-Up List.

The Saudi Fast Growth Start-Up List is part of the Saudi Fast Growth 100, which identifies companies in Saudi Arabia that have achieved excellent revenue growth and significant job creation. The Fast Growth 100 award was founded by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authoritys (SAGIA) National Competitiveness Centre, with joint founding partners Al Watan newspaper and Next Economics

While Hala Supply Chain Services has been recognised in the Start-Up category, the company has its roots in Hala Express - the founder of the biggest transport network in the Kingdom. This business has been renamed Naqel, servicing 4900 towns and villages across the Kingdom. Arabian Hala has a 49% operating interest in the business in partnership with Saudi Post.

Our marketplace is changing fast due to high levels of growth and the proactive efforts made to transform the economy. The Supply Chain Intelligence Report, commissioned by Hala in 2008, saw extensive research into the supply chain and logistics industry prove that those companies in the KSA that are more adaptive to these changes outperform their competitors. We have uniquely positioned ourselves to assist clients to improve their supply chains and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. Our ability to grow is in proportion to our ability to create value for our clients in these challenging circumstances, said HSCS General Manager Husam S. Al-Saleh.

Proof of Halas capability is found in its contract to manage the distribution of one of the largest suppliers to the fast moving consumer goods sector in the Kingdom. Hala runs significant warehousing operations in Dammam, Riyadh and Jeddah, which are well-positioned to assist clients with both overflow warehousing and permanent warehousing needs.

HSCS is honoured to have been recognised as a leading company in this category. Our ranking reinforces our position as an industry leader and is indicative of our success, borne from a deep understanding of the logistics and supply chain industries. Our innovative products and services are based on international best practise and our ability to remain flexible and reactive to a rapidly changing market, said Al-Saleh.
