TruckProtect, manufacturer of anti-fuel siphon devices for commercial vehicles, is predicting continued growth for 2009 despite an uncertain economic outlook.
As the Government officially confirmed that the country is in a recession, TruckProtect revealed it had invested 200,000 in an expansion programme for the year with additional new products and extra staff. In 2008 TruckProtect doubled turnover to above 2 million
It has just appointed a new UK Sales & Marketing Director, an additional UK Technical Manager and a General Manager for the United States market, where sales are already flowing.
During recession most types of theft increase, as recent statistics have shown, and fuel theft is no different. While theft of full tanks hit the headlines when oil was $140, its the regular, small volume skimming which worries operators currently in an industry where work and margins are tight said TruckProtect CEO Russell Fowler.
We now have a global market with sales into over 60 countries and we will continue to move into new areas. We are just about to launch worldwide with the Scania dealership network and this builds on the Paccar-DAF deal, The United States is a big growth area in particular we have recently established a base in Nashville, Tennessee that we are very excited about.
Our domestic sales do remain strong though. When times are hard, companies need to ensure they are not losing any money unnecessarily. Protecting commercial vehicles against fuel theft with our low-cost devices can help firms make very quick savings to protect the bottom line.
We have sold well over 100,000 units to date but know we cannot rest on our laurels but need to look to new innovations. That is why we have a continuous programme of product development into light commercials and plant and machinery in addition to bringing through selective products from third parties -- WheelStop-It anti-theft wheel nuts and EcoFuelKleanz, a magnetically-based fuel conditioner which prevents fuel sludge build up.
Our aim is to ensure we stay solid throughout the year, continuing on our current course, and emerge from the economic crisis in robust condition to further expand our horizons.
TruckProtects InstantFit NECK-IT units are already proven to work without interfering with day-to-day truck operations by allowing high speed fuel filling without splashback and H&S issues, but efficiently preventing both upper level tank siphoning and deep tank dipping. Importantly, they are robust with no moving parts and are fitted within minutes with no glues, drilling or piercing of the tank. Critically, the devices are Customs compliant.
TruckProtect has national distribution agreements with DAF-TRP, MAN, Scania, Unipart-TTC and Isuzu along with many other dealers and distributors across the UK. .
