CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has been awarded a contract to manage the UK inbound logistics activities for The Body Shop, part of the LOreal group. The contract commenced in January 2009.
On behalf of The Body Shop, CEVA will manage supplier collections from a set number of locations nationwide, transporting products to The Body Shops global distribution centre at Littlehampton. CEVA will also distribute palletised products to and from a number of gift assemblers. The products will be transported in full loads and via CEVAs multi-user network, coordinated from CEVAs Iver depot.
Mike Ricketts, Head of Global Transportation at The Body Shop says: "By working in partnership with CEVA we are able to reduce costs and deliver greater supply chain efficiencies. CEVA also has the expertise, scope and global coverage to help us manage any fluctuations we may encounter with our logistics activity."
