FreightScan, LLC, a leader in the development and deployment of technology solutions for the freight and logistics industry, will conduct live booth demonstrations of what it believes to be the worlds first forklift-mounted dimensioning cargo scanning system, the FL1000, at the Air Cargo Forum in Kuala Lumpur during the international show November 4-6.

FreightScans revolutionary FL1000 mounts directly to the mast assembly of a forklift and scans freight on a standard 48 x 40 skid up to 50 high at any location within a cargo facility loading dock or warehouse while the freight is still on the forklift.  FreightScan had previously developed the FS100, a ceiling-mounted automated dimensioning scanning system with the ability to trigger a scan from a PC, with a bar code reader or a remote trigger.  This innovative new FL1000 forklift-mounted dimensioning scanner takes that technology to an entirely new echelon of cargo scanning.

While working with customers to deploy enhanced technology to our flagship product, the FS100, it became clear that the cargo industry desperately needed a forklift solution, said Andr Johnson, CEO of FreightScan.  After meeting with a large trucking company in the first quarter of this year, we dedicated an entire engineering team to developing a system to meet this demand, and our concentrated effort resulted in a working prototype in eight months.  The FL1000 is going to resolve the myriad of workflow issues that have restricted cargo facilities that utilize cross-docking, multi-scales or have other warehouse constraints from implementing 100 percent dimensioning of their cargo.  This will be an important step forward for the entire industry.

The FL1000 system captures cubed dimensions, a digital and laser image for 100 percent of scanned freight, and incorporates that data and visual record with every waybill in three seconds.  This solution is fast, accurate, reliable and its automated data generation of correct dimensions and chargeable weight generates virtually instantaneous revenue gains and operational efficiencies for users.

We are very excited to debut this ground-breaking new forklift scanning technology at the Air Cargo Forum 2008 show, said Sheri Ascencio, Executive Vice President of Marketing for FreightScan. We have received numerous inquiries about developing a forklift-mounted scanner as an addition to our product line, which includes the FS100 automated dimensioning scanner and CargoVizion.  Between the FS100 and the FL1000, cargo operations will now be able to dimension 100 percent of non-conveyable freight seamlessly with existing workflow, dramatically improving profits.  We will formally launch the FL1000 and begin our worldwide marketing efforts in January of 2009, and we anticipate a great deal of interest in this revolutionary new forklift-mounted scanning technology from all segments and markets within the industry.

FreightScan will have the FS100, its flagship overhead mounted dimensioning scanner, as well as the FL1000 on display for live demonstrations at booth 2212 at the Air Cargo Forum.  Both attendees and press are invited to visit the booth to witness first hand how these advanced products can significantly improve workflow and profits for cargo operations.

ABOUT FREIGHTSCAN

FreightScan, LLC is a leader in the development and deployment of innovative technology solutions for the freight and logistics industry.  Its groundbreaking FreightScan FS100 system exceeds all existing standards for static dimming systems.  Utilizing revolutionary D.I.M.M. Tech (Defined Imaging and Multiple Measurement Technology), the FS100 has the capability to scan cargo in all configurations within seconds, providing companies with the ability to maximize warehouse resources, establish accurate billings, and significantly improve revenues and profit performance.  FreightScan has also recently introduced two security related products that work in conjunction with the flagship FS100 system:  FAST is a tamper detection system which creates a unique Package DNA for every piece of a shipment that can be monitored as it moves through the supply chain; and CargoVizion is the next generation of look-inside-the-box security screening technology.  Logistics industry segments it serves include air freight, ground freight, rail freight, sea freight, multimodal transportation and container logistics.  For more information, please visit: www.freightscancargo.com.
