MAN Nutzfahrzeuge provides online orientation for (prospective) customers / Configurator to be active on 30 MAN national websites
Alongside its product innovations, at the IAA 2008 in Hanover MAN Nutzfahrzeuge will be showing its new online truck configurator. This guides customers and other interested parties through the MAN product range and puts together a suitable vehicle proposal. On request a member of the sales team will contact the customer within 24 hours.
Today the breadth and depth of the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge truck range, which extends from 7.5-tonners to trucks with 44 tonnes gross vehicle weight and from standard semitrailer tractors to multi-axle special-pupose vehicles, are such that more help and advice are needed than ever before. Coinciding with the IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover MAN is therefore putting a new truck configurator in the web. It guides interested parties through the product range and to a suitable vehicle on their computer in the office or at home. Is a light TGL required, or a medium-weight TGM? A heavy TGS tipper, or even a heavy-duty TGX tractor? No problem at all the simple structure of the configurator will come up with a suitable selection.
MANEX and ECON used as basis
The program is based on MAN's internal sales systems MANEX and ECON. Only the vehicles that can be produced for and sold in the country in question will be shown. The truck is configured in five steps: after selecting the type of deployment long-haul, short-haul/distribution or construction the customer stipulates the tonnage, drive formula and wheelbase. He then chooses a cab suitable for the deployment profile and the required engine rating. Product details are described in an extra window. When the hardware has been defined the program presents matching service packages ranging from financing to individual maintenance contracts.
Finally, the truck that the customer has configured to his own requirements will be shown as a picture and can be printed out. The customer can then forward this together with his contact data to the relevant member of the sales team, who will get in touch with him within 24 hours. He can then specify further details of the pre-configured vehicle together with the salesperson.
New online tool by MAN: On the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge group website www.man-mn.com , using the new online truck configurator customers can put together a suitable vehicle proposal out of the MAN Trucknology product range. On request a member of the sales team will contact the customer within 24 hours.
The truck is configured in five steps: after selecting the type of deployment and model series, the customer stipulates the tonnage and drive formula. In step three he chooses a suitable cab and the required engine rating. Step four is the configuration of the body and wheelbase. During step five matching individual service packages from maintenance contracts to telematics and financing can be selected.
