New trailers built and delivered in five days

Leading trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull UK Ltd is offering what are thought to be the shortest lead times available from any UK-based trailer manufacturer. The company will now build and deliver a range of standard curtainsider and refrigerated trailers in just five days from the receipt of an order.

The offer applies to standard specification trailer models in the companys S.CS, Euroliner curtainsider and SKO reefer ranges.

The S.CS curtainsider is one of the most popular trailers on the market and its design offers optimum load capacity, loading volume and safety. The S.KO reefers meanwhile are produced using Schmitz Cargobulls pioneering and patented bolted and galvanized production technique which removes the need for any welding and, therefore, results in consistently high product quality. The refrigerated trailer box units themselves are constructed using Schmitz Cargobulls well established and proven Ferroplast modular steel-skinned panels to keep loads at the desired temperature.

Built to a standard specification, the five day curtainsiders are offered in a choice of 2.6 or 2.7 metre vehicle heights while customers have a number of curtain colours to choose from. Reefers are available in a single standard chassis height.

Schmitz Cargobull is able to offer the five day trailers following significant investment at its UK manufacturing facility at Harelaw, County Durham. The investment in new machinery coupled with new production techniques means that a finished trailer can now leave the production line at Harelaw every 33 minutes.

David Pressley, Schmitz Cargobulls Product Manager (UK), comments: These five day trailers are not stock trailers that have been standing in a car park for a few months. They are todays trailers built for each client when the client wants them.

In the modern haulage industry there is a growing demand for short lead times and these models are built to a high specification and feature everything users normally want from a curtainsider and a reefer.
