Jungheinrich has announced plans to open a new factory in Leipzig in 2009. The new facility will produce low-level warehouse equipment and is part of Jungheinrichs strategy to increase its overall global manufacturing capacity to over 100,000 units per annum.
In addition, the Jungheinrich Group has started work on a major overhaul of its used truck factory near Dresden. The facility is doubling its capacity and, as a result, will be capable of refurbishing some 4,500 used trucks to the highest standards every year. The economies of scale created by the additional capacity at the Dresden facility, will enable Jungheinrich to offer significant cost efficiencies across its entire European used equipment fleet.

Last year Jungheinrich completed a 40 million euro upgrade of its warehouse trucks production factory at Norderstedt, just outside Hamburg. The Norderstedt plant is now the largest single sit-on reach truck factory anywhere in the world.
