Kaiser's Tengelmann relies on WMS incl. Pick-by-Voice from KNAPP

KNAPP, a worldwide leading provider of logistic technology, successfully installed within three weeks the new version of the KiSoft Warehouse Management System (WMS) at Kaiser's Tengelmann in Nieder-Olm, making possible the distribution of an additional item range (frozen baked goods).

Through the Kaisers Tengelmann distribution centre in Nieder-Olm bei Mainz a vendors attractive range of frozen foods will now be provided to more than 500 customers nationwide. A Warehouse Management System had to be therefore installed within a short period of time, providing all the features for commercial logistics, and also features for the logistic service provider, e.g. EDI connection, storage billing etc., and adapting quickly and flexibly to future requirements. Voice directed picking from KNAPP will be used for order fulfilment for optimal performance and commissioning quality.

The Kaisers Tengelmann AG with headquarters in Viersen is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tengelmann group of companies based in Mlheim on the Ruhr, Germany, and is represented in food retailing with 750 branches in the four regions Nordrhein, Berlin/Umland, Rhein-Main-Neckar and Munich/Oberbayern.
