Bibby Distribution is giving Santa a run for his money in keeping Britain's homes filled with festive treats – thanks to its tanker fleet's large-volume deliveries to chocolatiers, dairies and factories across the UK.

In time for the festive period, the 3PL's fleet of more than 200 tankers will deliver in excess of 11,640 tonnes of liquid chocolate and 181 tonnes of mincemeat – enough to make 129 million advent calendars or 17 million tins of wrapped chocolates, and six million mince pies.

And for those who prefer eggnog, brandy butter or cream as their festive treat, the fleet has also transported 1,700 tonnes of milk from farms to dairies – meaning one in every 12 pints in the UK will travel on a Bibby Distribution tanker.

Vaughan Pendergest, Business Unit Director, Food and Ingredients, says: "Christmas is a very busy time for our operations and although customer demand is at its highest, our dedicated tanker team have been working around the clock to ensure every delivery is made on-time ahead of the festive feast.

"And while Santa's job might be done by Christmas morning, we'll still be working throughout the holiday season to keep shops refilled – and thanks to our carbon-busting tankers that reduce fuel consumption, we'll be doing so without it costing the earth."

Bibby Distribution's tanker division operates from its Droitwich and Corby sites and transports a variety of food ingredients. The tankers are built with a variety of efficiency features such as high-quality Johnson cargo pumps and advanced insulation, meaning reduced fuel consumption and lower maintenance requirements.
