Palletforce, the UK express pallet network, has welcomed another strategically-significant new member to its growing network – its sixth recent addition.

Switching from another network, Tomsetts Distribution will further reinforce Palletforce's presence in south-east England – an area where recent growth has allowed Palletforce to enhance its service offering.

Based in Newhaven, east Sussex, Tomsetts has been an established haulier for nearly 40 years and is currently run by brothers Steve and Ray Tucknott.

Managing director Steve said: "After many years with Palletline we were looking to make a change to our network and were really impressed with the ethos and attitude of Palletforce.

"They are a comparatively young company, but in the 16 years they have been operating they have shown tremendous growth, backed by substantial investment.

"It's clear that they have a strong long-term strategy, we believe they will be a perfect fit for Tomsetts."

They are the latest in a series of new members to join Palletforce following its acquisition by global investment group EmergeVest in 2015. With 100 members across the UK, the company recently opened a new SuperHub distribution centre at its headquarters at Burton upon Trent.

The £50m development is capable of processing in excess of 30,000 pallets a night.

Palletforce chief executive Michael Conroy said: "We are continually investing in our network to enable growth across our membership and that investment is helping us to stand out from the crowd and attract the best companies in key areas.

"Tomsetts are proven operators with a reputation for first class customer service so they're right at home with Palletforce and will help to strengthen our network even further. We welcome them to the Palletforce network and look forward to building the future together."
