Dedicated white glove delivery specialist, Panther Warehousing, has expanded its national network of depots with the opening of a new site in Watford to support its continued growth.

The 30,000 sq. ft. facility, situated on Watford Business Park, is the eighth warehouse operated by the company, which specialises in two-man and one man delivery services. The opening of the new depot follows launch of Panther's new Solo one man delivery service which has proved to be a popular addition to the company's portfolio of services. The move has created 100 jobs including contractors, bringing the total Panther workforce nationally to 800.

Situated close to both the M25 and M1 motorways the new facility is strategically located within Panther's eight-strong national network of hubs.

First established near Rugby more than 25 years ago and still situated there today, the company relocated its HQ to Northampton some four years ago, before rapidly expanding its network with further sites in Taunton, Peterlee, Leeds, Ossett and Bristol.

The opening of the new depots form part of a strategic £3 million investment programme over five years which has also included a new vehicle fleet and further investment in Panther's innovative IT platform which provides total transparency across the network.

Colin McCarthy, Managing Director, said the new depot follows increased demand for Panther's premium services. He continued: "This is excellent news for Panther and excellent news for our customers. With no signs of slowdown in online shopping and with the continued increase in popularity of shopping online for furniture business is forever on an upward spiral. This new facility will enable us to extend our reach in the southern part of England, particularly in the north London and Hertfordshire areas. Both direct and end user customers alike will feel the benefits as it will enable us to reduce both handling and stem mileage, and goods will reach their intended destination in pristine condition."
