LPR fuels Weetabix’s pallet flows

Working closely with Weetabix, LPR has delivered major process changes in the past year, concentrating on improving safety, onsite management and efficiency at Weetabix's depot at Burton Latimer. Europe's second largest pallet pooling provider has been working closely with the FMCG giant for seven years.

All LPR depots, including the Weetabix site at Burton Latimer, have standardised the type of paint used on pallets. The paint not only offers better coverage and a brighter red, but is also water based which is safer for the environment. LPR is committed to the environment and its pallets are all free from chemicals. This helps ease the safe transport of dry FMCG goods such as the well-loved brands carried on its iconic red pallets, including: Weetabix, Weetabix Minis, Alpen, Ready Brek, Weetos, Weetabix cereal bars, as well as the Weetabix On The Go drink.

Formalising the procedure for internal quality audit checks and increasing the number of internal checks at depots has helped improve pallet quality and, therefore, decreased the number of returns, which has optimised efficiency in the Weetabix supply chain, saving costs in time and product. Focusing on health and safety regulations has also seen LPR implement stricter PPE controls and cleanliness, improving safety for the workforce.

Additionally, in the past year, LPR has increased capacity at its onsite depot at Weetabix's manufacturing plant in Burton Latimer in order to supply direct into plants, allowing for ultimate flexibility based upon production schedules.
