It's another million milestone for the UK and European freight distribution network, Palletforce. The company has just handled the 26 millionth pallet at its central distribution Hub in Burton-upon-Trent.

The announcement comes just months after the 25 million mark was reached, and is yet another outstanding achievement in the company's anniversary year. The state-of-the-art Hub, built in 2008, is now used by almost 100 Palletforce members from across the UK. An additional 240,000 sq ft unit is due to open in 2017, raising daily capacity to 30,000 pallets.

Palletforce chief executive Michael Conroy said: "On our launch night in 2001, we processed 560 pallets – a record for a start-up distribution network. Over the last 15 years we've never looked back. To reach the 26 million mark is an extraordinary achievement, but Palletforce was founded on the principles of quality and service and we have continued to build our reputation through investment in technology and infrastructure. With our new SuperHub due to come online next year we are looking forward to more record-breaking achievements in the future."
