Four of Fortec's 80 strong member network proved they were 'simply the best' in the company's annual awards ceremony which took place at the weekend in Stratford upon Avon.
Cleveland based Devereux Transport and Distribution won the prestigious Fortec Depot of the Year award for the second year running which was voted for by Fortec members in recognition for overall performance throughout the year.
Nova Logistics based in Coventry was named the winner of the Commercial Excellence Award with Dewsbury based Brocklehurst Transport fending off strong competition to win the Operational Excellence Award.
These categories were judged on statistics gathered throughout the year in terms of commercial success, service levels and operational success amongst other criteria. The Newcomer of the Year Award went to Newcastle upon Tyne based W. Hedley & Sons who joined the network last year and is already making its mark.
David Spong, Network Director of Fortec, said: "Selecting and voting for our annual award winners is a difficult task as the consistently high standards displayed by all our members, together with their customer-centric focus and tireless efforts to provide the best service for Fortec and fellow members are typical traits of each and every member.
