GT Nexus, an Infor company, has announced that Allport Cargo Services USA, part of the Cargo Services Group, has deployed the GT Nexus platform to deliver international supply chain services that provide visibility and collaboration across its customer base. Technology is a core element to the growth strategy of Allport Cargo Services for North America.

Cargo Services operates in 30 countries, with 7,000 staff, managing in excess of 1 million TEUs (twenty foot equivalent units), and approximately 5.5 million square feet of warehouse space across Asia Pacific with significant presence and operating capability in the retail and consumer verticals across the network.

"Customers demand technology innovation that offers greater control and visibility of orders," said Bill Aldridge, President of Allport Cargo Services. "A cloud-based network enables us to expand upon our extensive presence and proven origin management expertise to deliver enhanced services to all verticals in North America, particularly the retail sector. Network-based platforms like GT Nexus represent the future."

Aldridge, an industry 3PL veteran, launched Allport Cargo Services USA Inc. in partnership with John Lau, founder and Chairman of the Cargo Services Group in Hong Kong.

"Allport Cargo USA is founded upon our longtime leadership in providing global multi-modal freight, logistics and added value services to thousands of clients of every size and type, from sole traders to multi-nationals, in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South Africa," said Aldridge. "Plugging into a cloud-commerce platform positions us to deliver new industry-leading functionality and capabilities that enhance our customers' ability and agility to service their own clientele."

"The future of global trade will be based on a hyperconnected, network model," said Kurt Cavano, President of GT Nexus.
