Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong's largest cargo handling agent – has been named Air Cargo Operator of the Year in this year's Supply Chain Asia Awards.

The award was one of eleven Corporate Awards, and twenty-five awards in total, presented at a gala ceremony in Singapore, attended by senior representatives of freight and logistics companies, and manufacturers.

Supply Chain Asia is a not-for-profit professional body that aims to bring professionals from within the logistics and supply chain industry together to share knowledge, learn from one another and create opportunities for collaborations.

Its award scheme is based on the decisions of a designated nomination committee for each category, which is given the responsibility of selecting those companies which it considers represent the very best – rather than the largest or busiest - in the industry.

In presenting the Air Cargo Operator of the Year award to Hactl, the organisers stated that it serves to recognise an air cargo operator that prioritises efficiency, security and customer service.

Hactl Chief Executive Mark Whitehead received the award from Mark Goh, Director, Industry Research, The Logistics Institute-Asia Pacific, National University of Singapore. Afterwards, he commented: "I am honoured to accept this award on behalf of my entire team, who brave all weathers to keep delivering top class handling service to our 100 airline customers.

"Our goal is to continue to deliver innovative levels of service and endeavour to exceed our customers' expectations."
